The Raising Voices Film Series showcases, celebrates and elevates voices and communities that have traditionally been underrepresented in the arts. The intention of the program is to create a platform for engaged community dialogue that will help bridge divides, reduce bias and discrimination and promote a sense of connectedness and inclusion. Fernando, a voice actor from Cusco, Peru, is trying to save his indigenous language from extinction. His dream: to convince the Walt Disney Company to let him dub The Lion King into Quechua, the language of the Incas. His journey to achieve this will make him re-examine his role as a father and an activist, with his 8 year-old son as his essential sidekick.
