History
Established in 1995 as a project of the Park City Arts Council, Park City Film is a single screen, non-profit art house cinema. Park City Film brings independent films and film-related events to the greater Park City/Summit County community that are not generally available through commercial outlets and uses film as a catalyst for engaged community dialogue.
Mission
The vision of Park City Film is to use film as a medium to entertain, inspire and educate our patrons, helping Park City remain a well informed and engaged mountain community; our mission is to create community through film.
Sundance Institute Art House Project Theater
Park City Film earned designation as an Sundance Institute Art House Project theater in September 2015. This is an elite group of theaters that must demonstrate not only curatorial excellence, but also deep involvement with their local communities, strong financial standing, and recognition from their peers and their communities for the quality and impact of their work. Acceptance into this group is a testament to the high caliber of our operations and programming – both the films we select and the way in which our programs engage community members.
