About the Film
At once a taut, deeply engrossing political thriller and one of the most fascinating films ever made about the inner workings of the press. The film stars Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman as Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, whose investigation into suspicious goings-on at the Watergate Hotel uncovers the biggest political scandal of the century and ultimately leads to the downfall of President Richard Nixon. Pakula builds riveting tension with almost documentary-like realism, while Gordon Willis’s shadowy cinematography suggests sinister dimensions of danger and corruption.
