Another Year

Nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, British filmmaker Mike Leigh delivers a comic and emotionally honest portrait of ordinary people trying to make sense of their lives. Jim Broadbent and Ruth Sheen star as a middle aged couple who have a happy marriage in which they are constantly entertaining each other with their senses of humor. The story revolves around friends and co-workers who put up facades of good cheer despite lonely lives awash in too much wine.
