About the Film
To create award-winning A Year on Ice, Antarctic photographer Anthony Powell spent 10 years (and nine winters) capturing the continent on camera like no other: from the 24-hour darkness of winter to desolate, stunning polar vistas including enormous unexplored mountain ranges, glaciers, blazing aurora, violent ice storms and the extraordinary creatures and adventurous humans who are based there. These time-lapse imagery, Powell’s speciality, will stir you as they evoke the ever-changing patterns of life near the South Pole. A Year on Ice has inspired awe and acclaim at film festivals worldwide.
There will be a Q&A following the film on Friday and Saturday evening with people associated with the film.
