About the Film
This documentary joins filmmaker Judith Helfand as she embarks on a journey to uncover the health and environmental risks associated with the widely used plastic polyvinyl chloride, also known as PVC. Used in everything from house siding to designer clothing, PVC is the most popular plastic in America. Helfand’s quest takes her from Long Island to Louisiana and then halfway around the world to Venice, Italy, in search of the truth behind the vinyl curtain.
