About the Film
On October 2, 2005, in Lima, Peru, a coach and twenty-one soccer players made history winning the first U-17 World Cup for Mexico. However, their history didn’t begin on that date; it started way back on faraway soccer fields. “Champs” tells the story of all the ups and downs, the struggles, the funny and even sad events along with the intense preparation they faced to achieve their goals. We travel into a personal adventure with the coach and his team members, living the personal drama of the players and their family backgrounds, the daily efforts they had to face reaching for the excellence required to accomplish their desire success. “Champs” is not a movie just about soccer; it’s a movie about champions.
