Danish auteur, Lars von Trier, has fashioned an apocalyptic blast at American values in a manner designed to provoke his audiences.

The story centers on Nicole Kidman as a character on the run, hiding in a small Rocky Mountain community during the Depression. Issues of power, arrogance, grace and mercy weave through the story. The all-star cast includes Paul Bettany (Master and Commander), James Caan, Chloe Sevigny, Stellan Skarsgard, Patricia Clarkson and Lauren Becall.
