About the Film
Documentary filmmaker Robert Kenner uses reports by “Fast Food Nation” author Eric Schlosser and “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” author Michael Pollan as a springboard to explore where the food we purchase really comes from, and what it means for our health. By exposing the chummy relationship between business and government, the film shines light on the dark underbelly of the American food industry. Kenner unflinchingly asks why are government regulatory agencies complicit in allowing corporations to put profit ahead of consumer health, the American farmer, worker safety, and even the environment. You will be startled and maybe outraged.
Chef Susan Odell from foodell.com will help introduce this film. She will also do a short Q & A following the film as well as providing the audience with tips and techniques to help change some of our food-buying habits.
