About the Film
A warm and funny British comedy about a bewildered but sweet young man who is the reluctant heir to a family shoe factory in the English midlands. For a hundred years they have been turning out respectable men’s wingtips. Business is bad until along comes a feisty six-foot-tall drag queen named Lola who is encountered on a London street being threatened by a gang.
Our hero attempts to rescue her but it is she who ultimately saves him by designing kinky boots that turn the company’s fortunes around. Lola also gives quite an education in tolerance to the provincial factory workers.
