Phantom Thread

Set in the glamour of 1950’s post-war London, renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock (played by Day-Lewis who has been nominated this year for a Best Actor Oscar) and his sister are at the center of British fashion, dressing royalty and movie stars. Women come and go through Woodcock’s life, providing the confirmed bachelor with inspiration and companionship, until he comes across a young, strong-willed beauty that soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Suddenly, he finds his carefully tailored and controlled life disrupted by love.
