Respiro

The beautiful Valeria Golino stars as a housewife and mother living on a postcard-beautiful Italian island. She is a free spirit who speaks her mind, swims topless at the beach and is considered strange by the other women in the conservative community. Eventually old world superstitions take over and drive her from her family and the village. She hides in a cave that looks out over the turquoise Mediterranean Sea and plots her return with the help of her eldest son. The climax of the story is both beautiful and mythic.
