About the Film
Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio star as April and Frank Wheeler, a young couple living with their two children in a Connecticut suburb in the mid-1950s. Their self-assured exteriors mask a creeping frustration at their inability to feel fulfilled in their relationship or careers. Based on a cult novel by Richard Yates and directed by Sam Mendes (AMERICAN BEAUTY), the plot revolves around a plan to escape to Paris where they dream that everyone?s creative energy will flourish.
