About the Film
Director John Sayles has assembled an all-star cast including Chris Cooper, Richard Dreyfuss, Kris Kristofferson, Billy Zane, Daryl Hannah, Tim Roth, Thora Birch and Danny Houston for his richly detailed American drama. The story combines both political satire and murder mystery set against the backdrop of a Colorado governors campaign. The film is constantly absorbing, intelligent and often bitterly funny.
