About the Film
In this affectionate portrait of the life as a dancer, director Robert Altman uses the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago to beautiful affect. Neve Campbell, who trained as a professional dancer, gives a charming self-effacing performance as a soloist on the verge of a career breakthrough. Many of the performance sequences achieve a sublime grace rarely seen on screen since the decline of the Hollywood musical.
Two thumbs up. – Ebert and Roeper
