The Guard

A hit at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, ‘The Guard’ is an offbeat Irish comedy starring Brendon Gleason as an eccentric, fouled mouth small town cop and Don Cheadle as a straight-laced FBI agent. They are on the trail of a nefarious international drug-smuggling gang. Set along the beautiful Galway coast, the odd couple must match wits with the crooks and each other. There are many twists and turns along the investigative route where no one can seemingly be trusted. Through it all the wise-cracking but cunning cop and the by-the-book agent manage to close in on their prey, making for an unlikely friendship and explosive finale.
