The Jane Austen Book Club

Today’s central California may be far removed from Regency England, but some things never change. We’re still every bit as preoccupied with the complexities of marriage, friendships, romantic entanglements, position, and social manners as was Jane Austen at the turn of the 1800s. The lives of a group of friends are revealed through the witty prism of their literary heroine. The book club meets over friendly drinks and fancy dinners to discuss and debate each of Austen’s classics, opening themselves up in the process to new challenges and friendships. Over time the six members find echoes, predictions, warnings and wisdom about their own personal and romantic lives within Austen’s beloved narratives and characters.
