The Matador

Pierce Brosnan stars in his most off beat performance yet as a swaggering, fearless, self-mocking international hit man. Greg Kinnear co-stars with Hope Davis as the hapless couple that unwittingly gets too deeply involved. The black comedy revolves around Bronson’s attempt to enlist Kinnear in a job. Kinnear is then called upon to save him from being rubbed out when his luck has changed. A scene in which Brosnan parades through a hotel lobby clad only in cowboy boots and a skimpy Speedo maybe worth the price of admission alone.
