About the Film
The Quiet Force, investigates the human and economic impact of Latinx immigrants living in Western ski towns – where they comprise 30 percent (or more) of the local population.
The film’s narrative explores the effects of the current political climate and actions on Latino individuals and communities. Interviews with immigrant families, local politicians, law enforcement, educators, non-profit organizations, and economists will provide a balanced analysis of an ever-changing issue that remains murky even to the most seasoned. The film will be screened with Spanish subtitles.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion with Diego Zegarra, Social Equity Director, Park City Community Foundation; John Mejia, Legal Director, ACLU-Utah; Edwardo Estrada, local business owner, and Ivonne Timar, manager of Flanagan’s on Main and parent of PCSD students. Rob Harter, Executive Director, Christian Center of Park City, will moderate.
Presented as part of the Latino Arts Festival in partnership with the Christian Center of Park City and the Park City Summit County Arts Council.
