The Savages

Laura Linney and writer/director Tamara Jenkins have been nominated for Oscars for Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay, respectively. Oscar winner Phillip Seymour Hoffman costars with Linney as siblings who must deal with an estranged but now needy elderly father. Confronted with complete and often comic upheaval, the two grown siblings are forced to face the past and finally start to realize what adulthood, family and, most surprisingly, each other are really about.
