About the Film
This is a dark comedy about art, culture and societal connections. Christian is the respected curator of a contemporary art museum in Sweden who drives an electric car and supports good causes. His new installation is “The Square” that invites passersby to consider their role as responsible fellow human beings. But sometimes it is difficult to live up to your own ideals: Christian’s attempts to retrieve his stolen cellphone drags him into many comic and dramatic situations. This top prize-winner at the Cannes Film Festival is a potent and humorous work that explores the boundaries of political correctness, artistic liberty and free speech in unique and thought provoking ways.
