About the Film
Set in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia, this startlingly beautiful documentary focuses on four generations of a family of nomadic camel herders living on the edge of civilization. A camel will not nurse its newborn, and the family must send two young boys on a journey to find a violinist to help in a traditional bonding ceremony. The film transports viewers to a place unique to most Western eyes and reminds us of the universality of familial love.
A truly beautiful film. – Richard Schickel, Time Magazine
