About the Film
This is one of the great directorial debuts of recent memory. Tommy Lee Jones, working for the first time as a director and also starring as a ranch hand on the Texas-Mexico border creates what maybe his most thoughtful and heart felt performance. Jones won the acting and writing prizes at the most recent Cannes Film Festival for this masterful work.
An undocumented Mexican ranch hand is found senselessly murdered and it is left to his friend, played by Jones, to settle the score. The story resonates with surprising warmth while exploring both the jaundice and generous views of the human condition. It will leave viewers with a sense of having witnessed something very special.
