About the Film
Presented in partnership with the Park City and Summit County Libraries and Utah Film Center.
Recently presented at the Tumbleweeds Film Festival and based on the beloved fantasy book series by Georgia Byng, this magical film tells the story of an orphan whose life takes a dramatic turn when she discovers a mysterious book on hypnotism.
Our heroine, Molly Moon, lives in a dilapidated orphanage run by the unlikable Miss Adderstone. At least she has her best friend, Rocky, on her side. One day the curious Molly finds a book on the art of hypnotism at the library, and, after study and practice, she discovers she has a talent for hypnosis. When a couple from London adopt Rocky, Molly decides to run away and use her new skills to bring him back. After arriving in the big city, Molly becomes distracted from her quest and uses her powers to pursue her dreams of showbiz stardom. Meanwhile a jewel thief has followed her with plans to use Molly’s powers to rob London’s largest bank.
Will Molly find Rocky and convince him to return with her before things spiral out of control? Featuring an all-star British cast, this energetic and engaging film explores the meaning of family through the eyes of a special orphan.
