About the Film
In 1914, Vera Brittain overcomes the restraints on women of the time to become a student at Oxford. When World War I breaks out, her brother, her fiancé, and their friends are sent to serve at the front lines. Brittain follows their sacrifice, leaving college to become a nurse tending the wounded. Testament of Youth is a story of young love, the futility of war, and how to make sense of the darkest times.
