Park City Film Venue Manager
Overview:
Park City Film’s Venue Managers are part of a team responsible for the weekly presentation of independent movies at Park City Film, with a passion for excellence. As a member of our operations staff, the Venue Manager plays a key role in providing excellent film-going experiences to Park City Film’s guests. Ideal candidates must possess exceptional hospitality and communication skills, be comfortable upholding cinema policies and procedures, be detail oriented and enjoy being part of a team working with the public in a fast-paced film arts environment.
Work hours are primarily on weekends nights and often include holidays. Park City Film is committed to cultivating a healthy, inclusive, respectful work environment and we hold all of our staff to a high standard of co-worker conduct.
Qualifications
Park City Film is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Venue Manager to oversee the nightly operations of our weekend film screenings. This is a hands-on role that works closely with volunteers and Park City Film operations staff to ensure the smooth setup, execution, and teardown of our concessions operations. This person should exhibit exceptional judgment, be well-organized, detail oriented, dedicated, efficient and communicative. She or he should have an understanding of, and appreciation for, independent film and be able to provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open and prepare the Park City Film venue for evening film screenings, including setting up tables, signage, concessions, and box office.
- Manage volunteers who assist with ticketing, concessions, and alcohol sales.
- Oversee ticketing operations, including cash/card sales and ticket tracking.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, reconciliation, and nightly financial reporting.
- Close and clean up venue after screenings, including concession breakdown and storage (note that Janitorial services are not required).
- Maintain a welcoming and safe environment for patrons while ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Troubleshooting ability: Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, and to initiate troubleshooting steps to work towards a resolution. Ability to work under pressure, resolve emergency situations and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to lift/move tables and supplies (up to 30 lbs) and be on your feet for several hours.
- Comfortable handling cash and basic reconciliation tasks.
- Experience working with the public or in customer service settings.
- Ability to work independently and direct a small team of volunteers.
- Familiarity with Square or similar POS systems a plus.
- Have a valid Utah Food Handlers and On-Premise Alcohol Servers certificate, or able to obtain within 30 days from date of hire.
Schedule:
This is a part-time evening position, typically one night per week (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday), with occasional screenings on Thursday evenings.
Reports to the Park City Film Technical Director.
Salary: $70-$100/shift (~$17-20/hr).
