About the Film
A modern Mark Twain style adventure story, The Peanut Butter Falcon tells the story of a young man with Down syndrome who runs away from a residential nursing home to follow his dream of attending the professional wrestling school of his idol, The Salt Water Redneck. A strange turn of events pairs him on the road with a small time outlaw on the run who becomes an unlikely coach and ally. Together they wind through deltas, elude capture, drink whisky, find God, catch fish, and convince a kind nursing home employee charged with his return to join them on their journey.
Post-film Nametags presentation by Chris Waddell of One Revolution on Sunday night. Nametags confronts the labels or limitations that we put on ourselves and others with resilience and the motto, “It’s not what happens to you. It’s what you do with what happens to you.”
“A feel-good niche indie with its priorities in the right place.” -Variety
